There are few brands with more prestige than Ferrari. They’ve been in business since 1947 and have earned their place as a luxury sports car legend. Ferrari was founded by the famous driver Enzo Ferrari. He was originally a driver for Alfa Romeo and won several major races.

He went on to build race cars for them as well. His division within Alfa was called Scuderia Ferrari and equipped race cars for wealthy drivers.

In 1931, Enzo finished second in his final race as a driver. His son Alfredo or “Dino” had just been born and he wanted to focus on his family.

However, his work for Alfa continued until 1939 when he left to start his own company. Due to a non-compete, he couldn’t use the Ferrari name for four years. Once his conract expired his company name changed from Auto Avio Costruzioni to Auto Avio Ferrari. In 1957 they released their first car under the Ferrari name, the 125 S.

After WWII, Ferrari relocated to their now famous factory in Maranello. From this factory they would produce incredible cars that would win at Mille Miglia in 1948, Le Mans in 1949, and the Formula One World Championship in 1951.

Today, Ferrari continues to produce some of the world fastest and most iconic cars. Their vibrant red colors and prancing horse logos are recognized all over the world.
